Sri Lanka’s Lahiru Kumara and Bangladesh’s Liton Das had to be separated by their teammates on Sunday after the pair came together in a heated exchange after the latter’s dismissal. Liton holed out at mid-off off Kumara in the sixth over after which the pair came together.

Liton even pointed his bat at Kumara before the pair were firmly separated.

Kumara was aggressive in the powerplay, earlier throwing the ball back at Liton’s opening partner Mohammad Naim after fielding off his own bowling. The ball was well over the stumps and seemed to be in line to hit Naim in the head but the latter had ducked at the right time.

Both teams had to qualify from the first round after failing to qualify directly for the Super 12. Bangladesh were stunned by Scotland in their first round game but then faced little issues in qualifying for the Super 12.

Both sides made one change each from the first XI of their previous first round match. Binura Fernando has come in for Maheesh Theekshana in the Sri Lanka team while Taskin Ahmed made way for Nasum Ahmed for Bangladesh.
